The problem

What was broken before we arrived

Every successful build starts with an honest diagnosis of where the manual process failed.
Issue 01

A twenty-year-old manufacturer with a serious client list and a website that loaded in eleven seconds, had no mobile layout, and listed products as a single scanned PDF.

Issue 02

Procurement buyers researching suppliers were arriving and leaving. The company was losing tenders to smaller competitors who simply looked more credible online.

Issue 03

Nobody internally could update the site, so the product list had been wrong for two years.

Strategy & Discovery

How we solved it

Observation in the field before writing code. Designing around how people actually work rather than imposing assumptions.

We started from who actually visits: procurement officers comparing suppliers, who need specifications, certifications, and capacity figures quickly, and are not interested in a corporate video.

The product catalogue became structured, searchable data rather than a PDF, with each product on its own indexable page — which is also what made the site findable for the specific product terms buyers search.

An admin panel was connected for the parts that change: products, specifications, certifications, and news. The rest was left fixed, because a site where everything is editable is harder to keep looking right.

The Build

The system in detail

Custom interfaces built for high daily volume, speed under load, and clear role separation.
Feature 01

A catalogue buyers can search

Products organised by category with specifications, materials, and downloadable data sheets, each on its own page with structured data so search engines can index the specifications properly.

Feature 02

Credibility above the fold

Certifications, production capacity, years in operation, and named client sectors placed where a procurement buyer looks first, rather than three clicks into an about page.

Feature 03

An enquiry path for the actual buyer

A quote request that captures product, quantity, and timeline — the information the sales team needs to respond usefully — instead of a generic contact form producing one-line emails.

Feature 04Admin Screen

Editable where it matters

Products, specifications, and certifications are managed from an admin panel by the sales team. The catalogue has been accurate since launch, which it had not been for two years.

The verdict after rollout

Enquiries improved in quality as much as in number: because the form captures product, quantity, and timeline, the sales team can respond with a real quote instead of an email asking what the buyer wants. Organic search traffic grew as individual product pages began ranking for specific specification terms the old PDF could never have surfaced.

Buyers used to ask us to email the catalogue. Now they arrive already knowing what they want and asking for a price.

Architecture

Why we chose this stack

Technology chosen for project fit, transactional stability, and long-term maintainability.

Next.js

Static generation gives a fast site on modest hosting, and per-product pages that search engines can index individually.

Vercel

Global edge delivery matters for a manufacturer whose buyers are often researching from overseas.
